Taking place over a two-week period, the program included tutorial-level and research-level talks by renowned international speakers on experimental materials science, electrochemistry and sustainable energy, clean water, and solar fuel production. Faculty Spotlight: Professor Carolyn Seepersad Get to know Carolyn Seepersad, one of the Woodruff School’s newest faculty members. Seepersad received her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech in 2004 and returned to the Woodruff School as a professor in July. Alumni Spotlight: Daniel Weinman, ME 2009 Daniel Weinman, ME 2009, who won the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event and took home a record-breaking $12.1 million in winnings, credits the perseverance he learned from Georgia Tech as part of his strategy for success. To win the WSOP Main Event, Weinman had to beat 10,042 other participants.
